Judith Luvena Cochrane

Judith Lavena Cochrane “Judy”, 84 of New Kent, VA, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, after a lengthy battle with emphysema and COPD. She was born on September 4, 1940, in Danville, VA to William N. Cochrane Sr. and Janie Luvena (Gilbert). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Donna Kuhn of Manassas, VA and brother, Neal Cochrane of Hilliard, FL.

Judy worked as a Bookkeeper of Accounting with various employers including Deloitte, Haskins & Sells and CSX. She was a faithful member of Chippenham Church of Christ for many years.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Batten), and son-in-law, Kevin Kunkel, with whom she has lived for the past 7 years; 3 grandchildren, Kaitlyn McCarthy (Cameron) from Fuquay Varina, NC, Tony Stells (Paula) from Chesterfield, VA and Lindsay Kunkel from New Kent, VA; 3 great grandchildren, Kaiden McCarthy, Andrew Stells and Ellie Kay Stells.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 10th at 11:00 at Journey Christian Fellowship, 3020 New Kent Highway, Quinton, VA 23141. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:00. A private burial will be held later in Danville, Va where Judy will be laid to rest with her parents.
