Joseph Patrick Chandler Jr.

Joseph P. Chandler, Jr., age 73, of Mechanicsville, Virginia departed this life on May 22, 2023. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vernell Higgason Stahl; father, Joseph P. Chandler, Sr.; and step-father, Philip Stahl. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, June T. Chandler; sister, Phyllis Oates; twin daughters, Dana Keup (Ken) and Christina Crist (Matt); step-sons, Greg Gerczak (Lexie) and Gary Gerczak (Melissa); and grandchildren, Brittany, Kasey, Sydney, Lindsey, Ryan, Virginia, Carter, Hayes, and Harry; and great-grandson, Milo. Joe worked for Business Opportunities for the Blind as a vendor and a trainer for 48 years. He was a life-long Boston Celtics fan and the most honest guy you'd ever know. A memorial service will be held on May 31, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church at Brook Hill, 1214 Wilmer Avenue, Richmond, VA 23227. Visitation will immediately precede the service at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Emmanuel or to the charity of your choice.
