OBITUARY
Jo Ellen Davis
February 23, 1955 – November 25, 2022
Jo Ellen Davis 67, of Richmond, Virginia passed away of natural causes at her residence on Thursday, November 25, 2022. She grew up in Roanoke, Virginia and was a proud graduate of Vassar College and upon graduating in 1976, she made Richmond, Virginia her home. Jo Ellen spent many years in the banking industry, even earning the Business Process Management Certificate in her time at Capital One. She was active in the civic association of her beloved Bellevue neighborhood where she owned a home for over 20 years. She was an avid animal lover and always had rescue dogs and cats that called her mom. Her faith in Jesus was an important part of her life and she was a member of Harmony Vineyard Church in Ashland, Virginia. Jo Ellen made many friends throughout her life’s journey and had a special place in her heart for those she loved.
Jo Ellen was the beautiful adopted daughter of Rosa Ellen McKinzie Davis and Joseph Howard Davis. Both preceded her along with her uncle, J.W. Davis, her aunt, Alice G. Davis, and her cousin Kaye Anne Aikins. She is survived by her cousins Pamela Davis, Dixie Miller and Lynda Gibson. She was able to build relationships with some of her biological family, her sister, Kelinda L. Rike of Morehead, NC and her brother, William Wyatt Rike,IV who were both such a blessing for her to know.
Jo Ellen’s memorial service will be held on January, 18 at 11am at 10487 Lakeridge Pkwy, Ste 420, Ashland, Virginia, followed by a reception. She will later be buried in Evergreen Burial Park, in Roanoke, Virginia with her mother and father.
