Dawn DeQuinetta Upshur

Dawn DeQuinetta Upshur, age 50, passed away on January 14, 2023, at Henrico Doctor’s Hospital on Parham Road. She was born August 12, 1972, in Richmond, VA, to Wilma Holloway Upshur and the late Carolton Upshur. Dawn accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Fair Oaks Baptist Church. She was a 1991 graduate of Henrico Highschool and worked at Suntrust bank (Truist), until her health unfortunately no longer permitted her to do so. Dawn was a truly loving and devoted mother, she poured all of her being into her family. She was the strong foundation that held her family together. She was an affectionate “Grahm-bee” to her two grandchildren and made sure to spoil them rotten. Dawn was a beautiful soul and was caring to all of those around her. She had the ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. She will forever be missed, loved, and remembered. She is survived by her daughter Lil’Neka M. Upshur, brothers Charles “Chuck” (Angela) Upshur; Troy R. Upshur; two grandchildren Kai and Kenji Upshur; one niece Isabelle R. Seiden; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, other relatives, friends, and a devoted partner Todd E. Young. A private family remembrance of Dawn’s life will be held at a later date.
