When I was a kid around 12 years old my family lived next door to Danny.    His family lived on Carnegie Dr in Vienna VA.    At that time our mothers were best friends.    They were both artists.   Sometimes they would paint together and I would sit and listen to them talk.  One day Danny's mother Dinah said to my mom  "I asked Danny what he wanted to be when he grows up"   My mother, Teddy asked  "what did he say?"    Dinah replied   "he said,  can't I just be?"     I remember at the time they thought this was a very profound response for a teenager.   They laughed and laughed and told that story over and over for many years.    It was then I knew Danny was special.   And I was lucky as a kid that I got to go with him in his  VW bus and get pizza to bring home for our families to have dinner together.    Nice memories.
