OBITUARY
Betty Estep Pierce
June 20, 1931 – March 13, 2023

Mrs. Betty June Estep Pierce, "Baba," 91, of Midlothian, Va., passed away Monday, March 13, 2023.
She was born on June 20, 1931, in Harrisonburg, Va. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Ed "Dadoo" Pierce. She is survived by sons, Edgar Jr. (Regina) and Joseph J. (Ann); daughter, Terry P. Saunders (Steve); grandsons, Andy (Allyson), Joey (Leigh Anne), Christian, Gregory (Kait) and Sam; granddaughters, Elizabeth (David), Rebecca and Hannah; great-granddaughters, Ellie, Eva June, Dora and Hallie Betty; and great-grandsons, Knight and Benjamin. She is also survived by her sister, Joan Corkle (Barry); her niece, Jenifer; and her nephew, Barry Jr.
Baba was involved in many civic organizations in her 91 years-Junior Woman's Club of Lynchburg, Va., member of YMCA Board and United Way of Staunton, Va. She also served as Registrar for the city of Staunton.
Baba always had a positive and loving spirit and was beloved by everyone who met her. She was a person of great faith who loved her family immensely and never failed to attend one of their grandchildren's sporting and extracurricular events.
Memorial contributions, if so desired, may be made to the SPCA or American Cancer Society.
A memorial service immediately followed by interment will be held at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia, Va. on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 3 p.m. A reception for family and friends will be held following the services at the Amelia County Veterans Center, 16440 Five Forks Rd., Amelia Court House, Va.
