Geoff was born on Farhill Farm in England and later moved to the town of Tewskbury with his family. He obtained a college degree from Hartpury College in Gloucester, England and later attended Shropshire Farm Institute where he graduated with a distinction, the first in twelve years. While still living in England, Geoff accomplished many things that included starting his own family and becoming a well known shepherd and spreading his knowledge all over. He was acknowledged in several farming articles in England, he aired on television there and he also authored several published articles.
In 1984, Geoff was contacted by a farm in Nelson County, VA and was offered a job as a Shepherd and being who he was and always thinking of ways to better his family, he came to America to continue making a life for them and do what he loved. He continued to work in sheep farming for several years, but when life led him in a different direction, he went to work at Digs, Inc. for about 25 years and his last years were spent working for Agricultural Solutions, all while doing his own farming part time. Geoff will always be known for his hard work ethic, intelligence, and most importantly, his unconditional love for his family and everyone around him.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital and Hospice of the Piedmont, who went above and beyond to care for Geoff and the family.
A memorial service will be held at Atlee Church-Scottsville, 5832 Jefferson Mill Road, Scottsville, VA 24590, on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. A gathering will be held immediately after at the church. Wear bright colors, no need for black!
