Born in 1944, Bob was a proud alumnus of Villanova University. He honorably served his country as a Commander in the US Navy, contributing to the nation's defense as a submariner. He continued his professional career as a member of the Senior Executive Service at the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, where his dedication and expertise made a lasting impact.
Bob shared 57 years of loving marriage with his wife, Mary Patricia “Trish” Gallo. He was a man of deep faith and varied passions. He was a devoted member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Ashburn & St John Neumann Catholic Church in Reston, loved traveling, found solace and joy in long walks on the beach, and cultivated an impressive knowledge of wines, becoming a self-taught expert in the field.
Bob leaves behind his beloved wife, Trish; his cherished children, Michael, Michele (Andrew), and Melinda; his granddaughter, Annabelle; and his brother, John. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
The family plans a small memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to American Cancer Society in Bob's memory.
