Danette was born on June 7, 1963, in Portland, Oregon to Barbara Coy and Daniel Brown. Danette was an incredibly hard worker, and her dynamic career reflected her passion for continuous learning. She was a bookkeeper, real estate agent, retail manager, and was certified as a Mortgage Loan Officer shortly before her passing. However, Danette’s favorite “job” was being a full-time mother to her three adoring children. Danette enthusiastically filled her life with service to her family – she loved her children fiercely and they wholeheartedly love her in return.
Danette brought a joy and passion for life in everything she did. She was an avid reader and maintained a book collection which is only rivaled by that of the Library of Congress. Her inquisitive nature also led to a devotion to documenting her family’s genealogy – where she reconnected generations of loved ones and preserved cherished family memories. Danette was also an incredibly talented artist and craftswoman. She had a knack for wrapping gifts so beautifully it felt like a crime to open them and crocheting ordinary yarn into exquisite creations. Danette leaves behind a beautiful legacy and will be greatly missed.
Danette was predeceased by her brothers, Mark & Peter Brown, her stepfather Ramon James (JC) Coy, her biological father Daniel Brown, and her stepsisters Barbara Coy and Becky Arnold.
Her memory will be cherished by her children, Sean (Caitlin) Lynch, Matthew Lynch, and Katie Lynch, and by her mother, Barbara Coy, sister Carolyn (Lee) McClinton, and brother Matthew (Michelle) Coy. Also left to celebrate her life is her grandchild, Connor Lynch, and her stepsiblings: David (Rick) Coy, Dan (Linda) Coy, and Connie Koch.
A memorial service will be held this spring (details to be determined - if you’re interested in attending, please contact the email below). In lieu of flowers, please send a note with a story about Danette’s life or well-wishes to [email protected]
